Meet Tanya

Hello!! I am Tanya and I am one of the  Midwives here at Organic Home Birth. My passion for Birth Started at age 16 when I attended the birth of my niece, Heather. I then thought I wanted to become a labor and delivery nurse but after the birth of my own children with Midwives I knew Midwifery was my calling. I gave birth to 2 of my children in a hospital setting and 3 of my children were born at home with Midwives. I was so empowered by my home births that I knew I wanted to support other women in their birthing journeys. I became a Doula and Birth Assistant in 2016 and in 2017 I began my training to become a Midwife with Desirre Andrews as my preceptor. I finished my training with Emily Thompson in 2024. I have been honored to attend over 200 births and am looking forward to serving many more families in the future.

My passion for serving birthing families has only grown over the years. I love providing care for and supporting growing families and first time parents alike in their pregnancy, birth and postpartum journeys. I believe if a family is well cared for and nurtured in the prenatal, birth and postpartum period it sets the trajectory for their journey as new parents. I truly consider it a great honor to be invited into the birth space and to care for families in this transformative season of their lives.

When I am not supporting birthing families or with my Midwife friends you can find me spending time with my amazing husband of 27 years and my 5 wonderful children who range in age from 25-15 years old. I also love spending time with friends over a lovely cup of coffee or studying the Bible with the women from my church.
