Meet Tanya

My name is Tanya Park and I am a Student Midwife and Labor Doula. My passion for Birth started at age 16 when I attended the birth of my niece, Heather. I thought I wanted to be a labor and delivery nurse but the more I learned about birth and midwifery I knew that was what I wanted to do. As a wife and a mother of 5 children, I put my birth career on hold to be a full time Mom for 16 years. I gave birth to 3 of my children at home and 2 in the hospital. In 2015 the time was right for me to pursue my passion for birth and I was blessed to get connected with a group of midwives and started working with them as a doula and birth assistant. I began my midwifery training in 2017 and have been honored to have attended over 100 births.

I am currently a Student with National College of Midwifery with whom I am completing my academic training. I began my clinical training with Desirre Andrews, CPM and am now finishing up my training with Emily Thompson, CPM. My passion for birth has only grown over the years and I love providing care, supporting growing families and first time parents alike in their pregnancy, birth of their children, and postpartum period. I believe that the birth experience sets the trajectory of the parenting journey and if a family is well cared for and nurtured in the prenatal, birth and postpartum period it sets the tone for their journey as new parents. I truly consider it a great honor to be invited into the birth space and to care for families in this transformative season of their lives.

If I am not with my midwife friends or supporting a family at a birth you can find me spending time with my amazing husband of 25 years and my incredible children. I also love spending time with friends over a lovely cup of coffee or hanging out with my 2 adorable Golden Retrievers Zelda and Peggy whom we also love to breed and provide beautiful little golden nugget puppies to families in the Pike’s Peak region.
