Meet our Students

My name is Kelly Cole and I’m honored to have joined Organic Home Birth as a student midwife with preceptor, Emily Thompson. My previous role in the birth community was as an RN Birth Attendant in home birth and in providing follow-up care at postpartum mom and baby home visits. Having worked as a nurse in home birth for several years, it is a pleasure to take the next step toward fulfilling a calling by pursuing my license as a Certified Professional Midwife.

I believe every baby is a gift from God, every birth is unique and it’s a joy to support moms and babies in all stages of pregnancy – prenatal, labor and birth, and postpartum.

When I’m not involved in all things birth, I enjoy the Colorado outdoors, hiking or snowshoeing, trying new foods, natural health and being with friends and family, my husband, son and my chocolate lab grand dog.

Emily Walker has been attending births as an assistant with intermittent breaks for the births of her own sweet babies since the winter of 2016. In July of 2022 the timing was right for her to enroll in the Midwife to Be Midwifery School and start an internship at Organic Home Birth
with Tiffany Miller CPM, as her primary preceptor. As a student midwife, assisting and caring for mamas and babies is a joy and a privilege. Her life was changed by the care and support she received from her own midwives and hopes to one day be an excellent and caring midwife who proudly carries the art and skill of midwifery into future generations.

Emily is a homeschooling mama and loves reading aloud and sipping tea with her family. She also enjoys playing practical jokes with her identical twin sister
